This is an absolutely wonderful studio to learn how to dance! The staff are amazing too! They are so friendly, caring and encouraging. We were impressed with their ability to make us feel comfortable with a dance we had never done in our first session. Learning is literally step by step. We signed up in preparation for our daughter’s wedding and we are so happy about our decision to be much more confident on the dance floor. Our sincerest thanks to the wonderful instructors!

    A:

From ceremony to reception, your wedding day is a celebration of your love for each other. Everything you’re planning – the venue, flowers, attire, food, music, and more will be a reflection of your style and personality, and your First Dance should be, too! Q: Which is better, private lessons or group classes?

    A:

We recommend starting with private lessons as they offer personalized instruction, allowing you to progress at your own pace and meet your specific goals. However, a combination of private lessons and group classes is ideal. Group classes provide a mix of partner work and basic techniques, enhancing your leading and following skills. The choice between them depends on your budget, goals, and learning style, giving you the flexibility to tailor your learning experience. https://www.fredastaire.com/chesapeakeeast/introductory-offer/

Q: How long does it take to learn to dance?

    A:

It depends on how often you come, how good you want to get, and how many dances you want to learn. Learning the basics typically requires just a handful of lessons. Feeling confident enough to dance to any music with any partner usually takes some time, but your progress will depend on your dedication and practice. Your instructor will guide you on the best path to achieve your dancing goals after your first lesson.

Q: What type of shoes should I bring to my first lesson?

    A:

When starting dance lessons, it's important to choose shoes that provide comfort, support, and the right amount of grip for the type of dance you'll be learning. Consider starting with ballroom dance shoes. These shoes typically have suede soles that provide the right amount of grip and allow for smooth movements. Ballroom shoes also come in different styles for men and women.

Q: What should we wear for dance lessons?

    A:

We realize that some Students arrive for lessons straight from the office, and others may be dressed more casually for their lessons – either is fine. The most important thing is to wear something comfortable, which allows you to move easily. Of course, you’ll also want to select comfortable shoes.
